Breaking and Entering

Breaking my heart you entered my soul.

You left a hole where I was whole.

Without a home, you estranged the keynote speech from my tones.

My skin pales in comparison to who I once was.

The melanin of emotions lacked sunlight that changed my song.

I stutter now because I have not spoken love.

It’s hard to speak charity when you heart love’s alone.
